Jerash and Madaba – 2-Day Tour Highlights
* Two-day tour to Jerash and Madaba from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem, crossing into Jordan via the Bet Shean Border (Sheikh Hussein), where visas are issued at the border.
* Explore Jerash, an ancient Roman city and part of the Graeco-Roman Decapolis. Well-preserved due to centuries under sand, its colonnaded streets, baths, theaters, plazas, and arches remain in exceptional condition.
* Discover Amman, Jordan’s sprawling capital, historically known as Rabbat Ammoun, with roots dating back thousands of years.
* Tour Madaba, famous for its Byzantine mosaics, including the iconic Mosaic Map of The Holy Land.
* Visit Mount Nebo, the site where Moses viewed the Promised Land.
Day 1: Sheikh Hussein, Jerash, Amman
05:30 – Pick up from Tel Aviv
06:30 – Pick up from Jerusalem
08:30 – Cross the Sheikh Hussein border into Jordan
10:00 – Start your journey with a guided tour of Jerash, one of the best-preserved Roman cities outside Italy and part of the ancient Graeco-Roman Decapolis. Explore its colonnaded streets, theaters, plazas, and arches.
12:00 – Continue to Amman, Jordan’s vibrant capital. Visit the Citadel, Roman ruins, and Roman Theater, with an outside view of the King Abdullah Mosque.
17:00 – After a full day of exploration, relax at your hotel and prepare for tomorrow’s adventure.
Overnight in Amman
Day 2: Mount Nebo, Madaba, Return to Jerusalem/Tel Aviv
08:00 – Start your day at Mount Nebo, the traditional burial site of Moses, and take in breathtaking views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Jericho.
10:00 – Continue to Madaba, known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. Visit St. George Church, home to the famous Mosaic Map of Jerusalem, beautifully displayed on the church floor.
12:00 – Head to the Allenby Border and return to your hotel in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv.
